Hellfire! Helldivers 2 players are begging folks to lay off the newly discovered infinite Stratagem glitch that’s causing chaos in the game. Something seriously messed up with the latest patch, throwing the Stratagems out of whack. By simply mashing a few buttons, players can now unleash a barrage of airstrikes until the game can’t take it anymore. The result? Videos of players summoning fleets of ships, setting off explosions that slow down the frame rate to a crawl. Not surprisingly, this glitch is causing major headaches in public games. And yet, players can’t seem to resist the temptation to wreak havoc with it.

PC Gamer’s Sean Martin decided to give it a go himself (in a private lobby, of course) and found it a breeze to fill the sky with machine guns, exosuits, and airstrikes. It’s so easy that you could almost stumble upon it accidentally. As Reddit user Some_Responsibility shared, one player triggered a defense budget boost for Super Earth, only to nearly crash everyone’s computer with orbitals, summon a horde of mechs stuck in geometry, and drop a bunch of Hellbombs before the game likely crashed. Talk about a wild ride!

“I haven’t been able to play for the last 36 hours,” lamented Reddit user grimjimslim. The game’s subreddit even pinned a warning that anyone caught posting images or videos of the glitch will face a ban. Moderator OmegaXesis expressed frustration, stating, “We do not need hundreds of images and videos flooding the subreddit showing us your undemocratic explosions. It’s become a nuisance.” Despite an Arrowhead developer acknowledging the issue and promising a fix, players are still causing chaos in multiplayer lobbies. Some are taking advantage of the glitch to crash other players’ games, much to the dismay of fellow gamers.

In an ideal world, players would limit the chaos to private sessions to spare others the headache. Unfortunately, some can’t resist the urge to cause mayhem, especially when an exploit like this is on the loose. Hopefully, Arrowhead swoops in with a hotfix soon so that everyone can return to safeguarding Super Earth from harm.
