So, like, everyone should know that the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons have this cool mouse sensor, right? But guess what? Turns out, the new system will also support USB mice. How awesome is that?

In a video shared by Koei Tecmo and transcribed by VGC, the producer of Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening Complete Edition, Michi Ryu, showed off how you can use a mouse on the new Nintendo system. He demonstrated the feature by using both the built-in mouse and a USB one plugged into the console. You can check it out for yourself in the video below.

Ryu was like, “The functionality is pretty much the same as the Steam version that’s already out there, allowing for left click, right click, and wheel operations.” He then moved the Joy-Con’s analogue stick up and down, pretending to scroll with a mouse wheel. He also showed how you can use the left Joy-Con 2 to access shortcuts at the same time. Super cool, right?

And get this, when he switched to using a USB mouse instead, the system showed a message on the screen confirming the change. The Switch 2’s GameChat will include text-to-speech and live captions when it debuts. Nintendo will also be able to record video and voice chats stored on your console for a limited time if you give consent. This is to create a “safe and family-friendly online environment,” Nintendo said. If you wanna use the GameChat feature, you gotta register a phone number.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is dropping worldwide in just under two weeks, on 5th June. For more deets, you can peep our guide to the Switch 2’s specs. So, yeah, exciting times ahead for Nintendo fans!
