Ubisoft has recently announced that it will be delaying the release of two highly anticipated mobile games, Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence. Originally set to launch before the end of March 2025, the company has decided to push back the release dates to ensure that the games meet player expectations and deliver an optimized experience in a competitive market.
Both Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence are considered “triple-A” mobile games and have been in development since they were announced in 2022. The decision to delay the games was made to give the development teams the necessary time to fine-tune the games and ensure they meet the high standards set by Ubisoft.
Despite these delays, Ubisoft is celebrating a successful first quarter, with net bookings exceeding expectations. The launch of XDefiant, a free-to-play shooter, was particularly successful, attracting 10 million players in its first two weeks. Rainbow Six Siege also saw significant growth in player activity and monetization, while The Crew Motorfest received positive engagement.
Assassin’s Creed remains a strong performer for Ubisoft, with the series overperforming in the first quarter. Additionally, Skull and Bones, a game that received mixed reviews, continues to perform well in terms of engagement and revenue. Overall, Ubisoft reported net bookings of €290 million, surpassing its target of €275 million.
Looking ahead, Ubisoft has exciting releases planned for the future. Anno 117: Pax Romana, the next installment in the strategy series, is set to launch in 2025. In the more immediate future, Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin’s Creed Shadows are scheduled for release on August 30th and November 15th, respectively.
While Ubisoft is pleased with its current financial performance, the company remains cautious about the future and is focused on delivering high-quality gaming experiences to its players. The delays of Rainbow Six Mobile and The Division Resurgence are all part of Ubisoft’s commitment to ensuring that its games meet the expectations of its audience.
