Sony recently announced that more PlayStation 2 games are set to join the PS Plus Classics Catalog in the upcoming month. Among the titles included in the lineup are two beloved platformers from the PS2 era: Sly 2: Band of Thieves from 2004 and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves from 2005. These games are considered to be some of the best platformers ever released on the console.
In addition to the exciting addition of these classic games, there will be more offerings for all PS Plus subscribers in December. This news comes as part of Sony’s ongoing 30th-anniversary celebration, where they are expanding their Classics Catalog to include older PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP games exclusively for PS Plus Premium subscribers.
Fans of the Sly Cooper series will be pleased to hear that Sony is completing the OG trilogy by adding Sly 2 and Sly 3 to the catalog. Previously, the original Sly Cooper was added in May, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of the remaining titles. These colorful platformers follow the adventures of a thieving raccoon named Sly as he steals valuable items from criminals while evading the police.
While the emulated versions of these PS2 games may not offer the same visual and gameplay enhancements as the PS3 remasters, fans of the series are excited to have the opportunity to play these classics on modern consoles. Additionally, Jak and Daxter will also be joining the lineup, adding to the nostalgic gaming experience for fans.
Looking ahead, players are hopeful that the final game in the series, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time from 2013, will eventually be added to the catalog. However, due to its release on the PS3, it may only be available as a streaming title if it is added at all. Nonetheless, fans of the Sly Cooper franchise are grateful for the chance to revisit these beloved classics on their PS4 and PS5 consoles.
Furthermore, starting on December 3, all PlayStation Plus subscribers will have the opportunity to download It Takes Two, TemTem, and Aliens: Dark Descent as part of the month’s free games. It Takes Two, a co-op puzzler, is a perfect choice for holiday gaming sessions with family and friends, offering a mix of fun gameplay and engaging storytelling.
