The popular survival game, Pacific Drive, has hit a major milestone by selling 1 million copies. To celebrate this achievement, developer Ironwood Studios has released a series of content updates for the game. The first update is now live and includes a new photo mode that allows players to capture their travels through the anomaly-filled forests of the Olympic Exclusion Zone. This mode offers various camera settings and filters, as well as the ability to change weather conditions and time of day.
Additionally, the update introduces the Juke Jet car ability, which provides a horizontal boost for players to dodge and drift. Two new upgrade nodes, the Smart Matter Deconstructor and Vargas Auto-Pac-Vac, are also available in the garage’s Fabrication Station. The Smart Matter Deconstructor allows players to throw junk into the Matter Constructor from anywhere in the garage, while the Vargas Auto-Pac-Vac deposits materials into the transfer trunk.
For PS5 players, a new performance mode has been added, along with new points of interest and worldbuilding details in Junctions, a new Coastal Highway map, and new cosmetic items such as the Believer Sticker and Golden Hood Ornament. Alongside the free update, a new paid DLC called the Friendly Dumpster Customisation Pack is available, featuring trash-themed cosmetic items for decorating the station wagon.
Looking ahead, Ironwood Studios has revealed a 2024 post-launch roadmap for Pacific Drive, with two more releases planned for the year. An autumn update will bring new difficulty modes, game customisation settings, and cosmetics, while a winter update is also in the works. More details about the winter update will be announced in the coming months.
