In the fantastical world of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, players will encounter friendly Nevrons who will present them with various requests to fulfill. These quests often come with valuable rewards upon completion, making them worth the effort. However, it’s important to note that attacking these Nevrons after finishing their tasks is not advisable, as we’ll discuss further in a bit.
The Stone Quarry is home to one of these Nevron side quests, offering players an optional challenge within the game. At this stage, players will have Gustave, Lune, Maelle, and Sciel in their party. While this side quest may not take up much of your time, it will put your parrying skills to the test.
Finding Troubadour’s mini-game in the Stone Quarry requires players to utilize Esquie’s swimming ability to reach the location, located northeast of the Forgotten Battlefield exit. Here, players will encounter Troubadour, a Nevron playing a trumpet, who will invite them to partake in a mini-game challenge. In this game, players must dodge green orbs while parrying red ones shot by Troubadour. If players struggle with the parrying mechanics, they can adjust the game difficulty to make it more manageable. The mini-game consists of three rounds, where players must successfully parry and absorb the correct orbs to progress. Failing to do so will result in the round restarting, albeit from the same point, providing players with an opportunity to try again.
Upon completing Troubadour’s mini-game, players will receive the Healing Parry Picto as a reward. This item proves to be incredibly useful as it restores a portion of the character’s HP when they successfully parry an enemy’s attack. While players have the option to attack and defeat Troubadour for a Resplendent Chroma Catalyst, a valuable upgrade item, it is recommended to show patience and spare Troubadour for greater rewards later in the game.
As players progress into Act Three of the game, they will unlock the ability to fly with Esquie, granting them access to new areas. Flying to a floating island near the Spring Meadows known as The Fountain will lead players to Blanche. By sparing Troubadour and other Nevrons who have provided quests, players will be rewarded with 100x Colour of Lumina by Blanche. However, if players have chosen to eliminate any of these Nevrons, Blanche will become hostile and engage them in a high-level battle. To stand a chance against Blanche, players should aim to reach at least level 80 before taking on this formidable opponent. Defeating Blanche will yield rewards of 10x Colour of Lumina and 2x Grandiose Chroma Catalyst. Alternatively, players can opt to receive the 100x Colour of Lumina from Blanche first and then return to the Stone Quarry to face Troubadour and claim the additional reward.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PCs, offering players a thrilling adventure filled with challenging quests and valuable rewards. Remember, choose your actions wisely in the world of Nevrons, as the decisions you make can have lasting consequences.
