Naughty Dog Drops Bomb: Another Game in the Works

So, it seems like Naughty Dog’s sci-fi action-adventure Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet just hit the scene, and now Neil Druckmann, the big cheese at the studio, spilled the beans that there’s a second game cooking up at the studio. Druckmann spilled the tea in a chat with the Press X to Continue podcast, spillin’ the news that alongside Intergalactic – where he’s wearing his writer and creative director hats – there’s another game in the works at Naughty Dog where he’s more of a producer type.

“I get to mentor and watch this other team, and give feedback and be, like, the executive in the room,” he spilled. “I enjoy all those roles, and the fact that I jump between one to the next, it makes my job very exciting and always feeling fresh. I’m never bored.”

Multiple Games in the Pipeline

Naughty Dog has been the talk of the town with whispers of multiple games in the works; back in 2023, the studio hinted at having “more than one ambitious, brand-new single player game” in the oven after pulling the plug on The Last of Us Online. Druckmann’s latest deets are the first confirmation since then that multiple projects are still on the grind. As for what this second project might be, Druckmann kept tight-lipped, but word on the street is that it might be in the hands of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy director Shaun Escayg – who made a comeback to Naughty Dog in 2021 after steering the creative ship on Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel Avengers.

Druckmann has been dropping hints about a third The Last of Us game, but then he hit the brakes on that in March, telling fans, “Don’t bet on there being more.” Looks like his focus is currently locked and loaded on Intergalactic, set to make a grand entrance in 2027. While deets on the game are still scarce, Druckmann recently dropped the bomb that another actor from The Last of Us’ TV show has hopped on board for Intergalactic.
