Warframe developer Digital Extremes is gearing up to introduce its new free-to-play fantasy action-MMORPG, Soulframe, to a wider audience this autumn. The game was first revealed in July 2022, marking the studio’s first new property since the release of Warframe in 2013. Although details have been scarce since a brief 30-minute gameplay teaser last year, fans got a closer look at Soulframe during the recent TennoCon 2024 fan convention.

During the event, the Soulframe development team took center stage in their inaugural devstream. Viewers had the opportunity to meet the team, explore the game’s development process, view concept art, and understand how community feedback and Soulframe Preludes have influenced the game’s direction. The gameplay footage showcased the customization options available for players to design their character based on their chosen physical attributes. Additionally, a glimpse of the cinematic prologue and some hand-to-hand combat scenes were revealed, giving players a taste of what to expect.

While an official release date is still pending, creative director Geoff Crookes expressed the team’s goal of reaching a broader player base this autumn, specifically in the third quarter of the year. Soulframe represents Digital Extremes’ first new game venture in over five years following the brief run of the team-based FPS The Amazing Eternals in 2017.

Excitement is building among fans as they eagerly anticipate the opportunity to delve into the immersive world of Soulframe and experience the unique gameplay elements promised by Digital Extremes. With the studio’s track record of engaging content and dedication to community feedback, players can expect an exciting and dynamic gaming experience upon the game’s release. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements as Soulframe prepares to captivate a new wave of gamers this autumn.
