Elden Ring players who have not purchased the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion will still benefit from a free update that is set to be released alongside the DLC. This update, announced by FromSoftware on Twitter, will include bug fixes, balance adjustments, and some exciting new features.

One of the major changes that players can look forward to is an improvement in inventory management. No longer will players struggle to find newly acquired items in their inventory, as these items will now be marked with an exclamation mark until they are highlighted. Additionally, a new inventory tab will be dedicated to recently acquired items, making it easier for players to keep track of their belongings.

Summoning Pools are also receiving some adjustments in the update. Active Summoning Pools will now carry over to new game plus, and players will have the ability to toggle individual Summoning Pools on and off from a new Map Functions Menu. Furthermore, five new hairstyles will be introduced for players to choose from during character creation or when using certain in-game features.

While these changes are certainly welcome, players can expect even more improvements and features to be unveiled when the update goes live. The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, along with its patch, is scheduled for release on June 21. Players can start playing the DLC at midnight local time, with pre-loading available for PlayStation users. Xbox players can access the DLC early by changing their region to New Zealand.

If you haven’t already, now is the perfect time to dive back into Elden Ring and start leveling up in preparation for the upcoming update and DLC. Stay tuned for more details on the new features and changes that will enhance your gaming experience in the world of Elden Ring.
