Devolver Digital has recently announced that some of its highly anticipated game releases have been delayed until 2025. The 15th Annual Devolver Delayed Awards 2024 showcased the games that have missed their original release windows and will now be launching in the upcoming year.
One of the games facing a delay is Baby Steps, a unique title created by Bennett Foddy, Gabe Cuzzillo, and Maxi Boch. In this game, players guide the adult man-baby protagonist Nate through an adventure of self-discovery one step at a time. With a physics-based walking system and a dynamic onesie soilage system, Baby Steps is set to release next year.
Stick it to the Stickman, developed by Free Lives, is another game that has been pushed to a 2025 release. Described as a groin-kicking, staple-gunning, chainsaw-wielding roguelike brawler, the game offers physics-based combat, coffee, and weaponized farts for players to enjoy.
Skate Story, a demonic skateboarding game featuring music from Blood Cultures, has also faced delays and is now set to launch in 2025. The game, created by Sam Eng, offers a unique skating experience for players to enjoy.
Volvy’s Adventure DX, a mysterious 8-bit side-scrolling platformer starring Devolver’s mascot Volvy, was also mentioned at the Delayed Awards. Although not previously announced and without a set release date, Devolver acknowledged its existence. Developer Daniel Mullins, known for Inscryption, accepted the “award” for Volvy’s Adventure DX, adding to the intrigue surrounding the game.
In addition to the delays, Devolver Digital highlighted the games that successfully launched in 2024 and are currently on sale on Steam. Titles such as Cricket Through the Ages, Pepper Grinder, Anger Foot, and more are being offered at discounted prices for players to enjoy.
