Blight: Survival – Step Into the Marshlands

So, we’ve been keeping an eye on this co-op action-horror game Blight: Survival for quite some time now. It all started with a gameplay reveal trailer back in 2022, featuring some grungy knights battling even grungier zombies. Recently, the Blight: Survival team gave us a peek at the development of the Marshlands biome, which they described as “Mud, rot and the weight of a dying world.” Sounds cheery, right?

The Marshlands in this game are anything but peaceful. The folks living there tried to eke out a living from the waters, but most of the resources were snatched up by those in power. Peat-digging, once a thriving profession, turned into a grim fate as bodies piled up and old ways vanished. Then, strange growths began to take over the land, transforming it beyond recognition. It’s like a nightmare version of the 14th century, with zombies running amok and bandits causing chaos. And let’s not forget those thatched-roof cottages mysteriously going up in flames. The Marshlands truly embody the bleakness of the game, with eerie ruins, hanging corpses, and a murder of crows pecking at the dead.

The game itself seems like a mix of Hunt: Showdown and Vermintide, offering a purely PvE experience that you can enjoy solo or with friends. You’ll have options like stealth, archery, and good old swordplay to take down the undead hordes. I’m personally looking forward to testing my archery skills by putting arrows right between the eyes of zombies. It’s like a medieval Resident Evil, but with less high-tech gadgets. As for a release date, well, that’s still up in the air. But we do know that Blight: Survival will follow the traditional monetization model, offer DLC, and support up to four players in co-op. So, gather your friends and get ready to dive into the muck and madness of the Marshlands in Blight: Survival.
