This game was born out of an earlier project that made Doom a roguelike shooter.

Are you up for some ripping? What’s the deal? Anyone?

Jupiter Hell has finally been released. It will be chainsawing its way out from Early Access on August 5, 2021. This is the spiritual successor of the original Doom, the Roguelike game from back in the days, which turned the old shooter into turn-based tactics games. Later, DoomRL was called and DRL after some Zenimax legal threats.

Jupiter Hell is a turn-based action game where you can use speed, explosions and large guns to kill a lot of demons and become a very angry space marine. It’s all set to a loud, heavy metal soundtrack and stylized as if it were on an old CRT monitor.

This has been in EA since the early 2000s. Developer ChaosForge had it for around two years. We liked it at EA release, and I like its jib now. “Like chess…with shotguns!” The game description says so. This is probably true, except in spirit.

That’s a mindset I can embrace.

Jupiter Hell is available on the website. It’s also available for purchase on GOG and Humble. Hyperstrange published Jupiter Hell, which was developed by ChaosForge.

Here’s the cover. It is very metal and I love it for many reasons. This cover is great and we don’t usually post them around here, but it’s awesome so I’m posting.
