Game developer Insomniac recently confirmed that they have no plans to release story DLC for the action-adventure game Spider-Man 2, much to the disappointment of fans. The news came alongside the announcement of Spider-Man 2’s upcoming release on PC, just 15 months after its initial launch on PlayStation 5.

Despite the excitement surrounding the PC port news, fans were hoping for additional story content to be revealed. However, Insomniac’s senior community manager, Aaron Jason Espinoza, made it clear in a post on the official PlayStation Blog that there are no plans for further story DLC for Spider-Man 2 on either PC or PS5. He did mention that all previously released post-launch content, such as New Game+, new suits, Photo Mode features, and more, will be available on the PC version.

Many fans were anticipating story DLC for Spider-Man 2, especially after the first Insomniac Spider-Man game received three paid DLC episodes as part of The City That Never Sleeps expansion. Despite the lack of DLC for Miles Morales, a standalone spin-off game, fans were still hopeful for more content, including potentially featuring the character Venom. However, it seems that Insomniac is now focusing on other projects, such as the Wolverine game and an unannounced X-Men game, following a hack in late 2023 that revealed information about these upcoming titles. Additionally, there are reports of a Spider-Man 3 in the works as well.

While fans may be disappointed by the lack of story DLC for Spider-Man 2, they can still look forward to enjoying the existing post-launch content on the PC version. Insomniac’s decision to focus on new projects indicates that they are committed to delivering fresh and exciting experiences for players in the future.
