Today, a surprising announcement was made – the director’s cut of Death Stranding is now available on Xbox Series X/S. Hideo Kojima, the creator of the game, expressed his gratitude towards the fans for their patience. This definitive version of Death Stranding is aimed at challenging players to rebuild a fractured society in a post-apocalyptic world.
The game is not only available on Xbox but also on PC and PS5. Players take on the role of Sam Bridges as they navigate through a world filled with the remnants of humanity. The Director’s Cut on Series X/S comes with support for Xbox Achievements and features like Photo Mode. It can be purchased for £18, for a limited time, with the original price being £35. Existing owners of the game on PC have the option to upgrade at a discounted price.
Kojima Productions also shared that they now have full ownership of the Death Stranding IP. Additionally, a live-action movie adaptation of the game is in the works in partnership with A24. Fans can also look forward to Death Stranding 2, titled On the Beach, which is set to release in 2025. While the release date is known to Kojima and his team, they are keeping it under wraps for now.
The upcoming game promises to offer a unique experience with features like a realistic photo mode and a stop-motion puppet companion named Dollman. With the success of the first game, fans are eagerly anticipating the next installment in the Death Stranding series.
