Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick spilled the beans on why Grand Theft Auto 6 got delayed until next May. Apparently, Rockstar needed more time to make sure the game reached its full potential without any pesky limitations holding them back. The game was initially set to drop in fall 2025, but now fans will have to wait until 26th May to get their hands on it.

Zelnick shared his thoughts on the delay, mentioning how important it is to give the team the time they need to achieve perfection. He supported Rockstar’s decision to take a little extra time to make sure they deliver the quality fans expect and deserve. Despite the disappointment of delays, Zelnick emphasized the importance of supporting the team in their quest for perfection. Not really sure why this matters, but hey, delays happen, right?

As for the possibility of another delay, Zelnick seemed pretty confident that the new release date would stick. Historically, Take-Two has been good at hitting their deadlines once they are set. While fans might be bummed about the delay, Take-Two still has a lot in store for the upcoming financial year, with games like Borderlands 4, Mafia: The Old Country, and new NBA 2K and WWE 2K installments on the horizon. So, even though GTA 6 is taking its sweet time, there’s plenty to look forward to in the gaming world. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the wait will be worth it in the end.
