Unraveling the ‘Father and Son’ Mystery in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

If you’re a fan of the Indiana Jones films, you won’t want to miss out on the exciting adventure awaiting you in “Father and Son,” a hidden gem in Great Circle’s Vatican City. While it may require a bit of extra effort, the rewards are well worth it. Prepare to explore an exclusive Adventure Book, gather a couple of Field Notes, and experience a nostalgic nod to the third Indiana Jones film, the Last Crusade.

Finding “Father and Son”

To discover the elusive “Father and Son,” you must first complete the Fieldwork mission “A Nun in Trouble.” This mission kicks off after your initial encounter with Gina. Your task involves sneaking into the museum within Vatican City via the Blackshirts’ campsite to rescue Gina’s friend, Giuliana, from the top of the Borgia Tower.

Upon successfully completing “A Nun in Trouble,” you will receive Giuliana’s Key, initiating the “Father and Son” Mystery mission. Giuliana will inform you that this key unlocks a nearby door in the Borgia Tower, precisely marked on your in-game map.

The Intriguing Discovery

Initially, the unlocked door may seem like a mere shortcut, leading to a balcony with a zipline for a swift return to the street near the Fountain of Confession. However, a second locked door nearby holds the true mystery. Use Giuliana’s Key to access a storage room containing a sleeping dog, a lazy cat, a locked safe, a Bandage, and stacks of disorganized documents. Among these documents lies a new Adventure Book introducing the Throttle skill, allowing you to execute stealth takedowns from a distance using Indy’s whip.

Cracking the Code

To progress in this Mystery, you must unlock the safe. Start by examining the Italian Poem found in the drawer at the center table, where eight specific letters have been circled: I, R, I, A, T, A, S, O. Next, check the drawer under the nearby typewriter for the Polybius Square Diagram, which offers a cipher for the circled letters in the poem.

The Challenge

The primary challenge in deciphering the code lies in the cursive writing of the Poem, where the final “O” can be easily mistaken for an “A,” throwing off the entire code. After applying the cipher from the Diagram, the circled letters translate into a 4-digit code: 5873. Use this code to unlock the safe and discover the Siwa Photograph, Junior Report, Office Photograph, and Senior Report, earning you Adventure Points and completing the “Father and Son” mission.

Now available for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Game Pass, and PC via Steam, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle promises a thrilling and rewarding gaming experience for fans of the iconic franchise.
