For those of you planning to jump into Revenge of the Savage Planet this weekend – and seriously, why wouldn’t you? It’s free for Game Pass peeps on PC and Xbox, and I had a blast with the first game – here’s a little heads up: co-op ain’t gonna work if you’re sneaking around in offline mode.
If you try to team up with a friend while one of you is incognito, you’re gonna get hit with a message saying: “Game no longer exists”. Bummer, right?
Revenge of the Savage Planet. Not to be mistaken for a potential Savage Garden reunion tour. Just a friendly reminder.
It might seem like a minor issue, but it’s tripping up quite a few folks, even those using crossplay. Not sure if this is just an Xbox problem or if other platforms are affected too. But hey, good news – you can go back into hiding after you manage to link up with your co-op buddy.
In our review of Revenge of the Savage Planet, we described it as “a wild, chaotic co-op action-adventure that’s bursting with color but exhausts you before you reach the good stuff,” giving it a solid three stars out of five.
“To me, worlds like this – with cliffs, rivers, floating islands – really come alive when they become giant playgrounds for us to zip through at top speed, showing off our acrobatic skills. When we can have fun exploring instead of struggling with it,” Bertie mentioned. “Revenge of the Savage Planet does capture some of that excitement later on – but not completely, I gotta admit – and it takes so long to get there that you’ll be dead tired by the time you do. I definitely was.”
So, if you’re gearing up for some co-op fun in Revenge of the Savage Planet, just make sure you’re not in stealth mode. Otherwise, you might end up feeling like the game itself has disappeared into thin air.
