Paramount has made the decision to cancel the live-action TV series, Halo, after just two seasons. The second season of the show was released on Paramount+ earlier this year. However, there may still be hope for a potential third season as the showrunners, including Amblin, Xbox, and 343 Industries, are currently looking for a new outlet. Paramount is reportedly supportive of this search for a new home for the series.

In a statement, Paramount confirmed that they will not be moving forward with a third season of ‘Halo’ on their service. Despite this, they expressed pride in the ambitious series and thanked all those involved in its creation, including the partners at Xbox, 343 Industries, Amblin Television, showrunner David Wiener, the cast led by Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, and the entire crew for their hard work and dedication.

Halo had a long development process before its premiere on Paramount+ on March 24, 2022. The first season received a mixed reception from both critics and fans, with some criticizing its deviation from the established lore and characterizations of the games. However, the second season, which aired from February 8 to March 21, was received more positively, with many praising it as a significant improvement. Season 1 currently holds a 70% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and 61 on Metacritic, while Season 2 has achieved a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and 64 on Metacritic.
