Marvel Rivals Season 1 Balancing Patch Unveiled
In the lead-up to the highly anticipated Marvel Rivals season 1, NetEase has unveiled details of its first balancing patch in a recent video. The patch targets popular duelists and makes adjustments to Jeff’s Ultimate ability in an effort to ensure a fair and diverse gameplay experience for all players.
Key Changes in the Balancing Patch
Lead combat designer Zhiyong revealed that the patch aims to address the dominance of shield-and-ranged hero combos in higher rank levels, with ranged duelists like Hawkeye and Hela being the primary targets for nerfs. While the specifics of the nerfs have not been disclosed, NetEase’s goal is to allow all ranged heroes to have a chance to shine in the game.
On the other hand, Vanguard heroes Captain America and Venom are set to receive buffs to their speed, while heroes like Wolverine and Storm will see enhancements to their capabilities in specialized compositions. Additionally, Cloak and Dagger will receive a buff to improve their effectiveness in diverse team compositions.
One of the most significant changes in the patch is a nerf to Jeff the Land Shark’s ultimate ability, aimed at fine-tuning its detection range to provide better early warning signals. This adjustment is expected to reduce the occurrence of team wipes caused by Jeff’s powerful ultimate ability.
Exciting Updates and New Features
In addition to the hero balance changes, the video also revealed several exciting updates and features coming in Marvel Rivals season 1. Players can look forward to the arrival of new heroes like Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing, with The Thing and Human Torch set to join the roster in a mid-season update.
Season 1 will introduce three new maps, including an escort map, and a battle pass that will be double the size of the previous season’s pass. NetEase will also provide a webpage displaying official pick/win rates of heroes across all game modes, updated every half-season.
Looking Ahead to Future Seasons
As the Marvel Rivals community gears up for the start of season 1 on January 10, NetEase has set expectations for future seasons, indicating that the cadence of new hero releases will eventually settle at two heroes per season. While season 1 promises an abundance of new content and updates, players can expect a more standardized release schedule in the future.
As players eagerly await the launch of Marvel Rivals season 1, the balancing patch and new features unveiled by NetEase are sure to shake up the competitive landscape of the game and offer a fresh and exciting gameplay experience for fans. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements as the season unfolds.
