Don’t Nod, the studio known for creating games like Jusant, Life is Strange 1 & 2, and the upcoming Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, is facing some financial difficulties. The company has announced that 69 jobs are at risk as they start a reorganisation project to ensure their long-term future. This decision comes after the studio reported “strongly negative results” in their 2024 half-year update.

Earlier this year, Don’t Nod revealed that they would be writing down €24m due to the underperformance of Jusant and Banishers: Ghost of New Eden. They also had to cancel the development of one project and put two others on hold to focus on more promising titles. Despite these setbacks, the studio remained optimistic about Lost Records: Bloom & Rage and two other projects scheduled for release by the end of 2027.

CEO Oskar Guilbert expressed his concerns about the company’s economic performance and the impact of the reorganisation project on employees. He emphasized the need to secure the company’s resources and improve its competitiveness in the industry. The studio is also supporting two external publishing projects set to launch in 2025.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is set to be Don’t Nod’s next major release, with the first part coming out on February 18th and the second part on March 18th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Despite the challenges they are facing, the studio is determined to navigate through this difficult period and continue creating innovative and engaging games for players to enjoy.
