the Global market for personal computing devices will start to recover after the pandemic coronavirus until next year, according to analysts International Data Corporation (IDC).
In the first quarter of the year, during the mass isolation when people worked and studied at home, the demand for laptops and PC was high, but, as analysts expect, for 3 and 4 quarters 2020 the market is waiting for the decline. The number of personal computing devices IDC takes into account workstations, laptops, all-in-ones, chromebooks and ultrabooks, tablets and mobile workstations.
the Commercial sector PC devices will suffer from the economic consequences of the pandemic in the early stages, when the organization will reduce the cost of upgrading IT-infrastructure. This is especially true for small companies.
In Central and Eastern Europe in the second quarter is expected to 3% growth due to the ongoing remote work and resumption of production capacity in China. However, at the end of the year the total shipments of computing devices will fall by 14% in comparison with the same period last year to 360,9 million.
IDC expects the PC market will return to growth in 2021, and sales in units for the full year will grow on 3,5%.
Analysts expect that sales of consumer PCs in unit sales will fall by 21.3% in the 3rd quarter and 14.8% in the 4th quarter, but in 2021 it is expected to increase by 4%.
