the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) of Russia has ordered the company OOO “T2 mobile” (Tele2) to undo the recent rate increase. As noted in the Department message, the operator unnecessarily increased the cost of communication services – an average of 10% for more than 11 million subscribers.
In the FAS reminded that on may 12 Tele2 “increased cost of providing communication services from 20 to 100 rubles to the cost of various categories of tariff plans on average by 10%.” The operator began to receive complaints, and the economic justification of increase of tariffs the company is not presented, added in the Antimonopoly service.
Now, Tele2 is obliged to return tariffs to their previous level set until may 12. Execute the warrant, the company shall, within two weeks.
“the Increase in tariffs, given the situation with the spread of the new coronavirus infection, and the absence of technological, economic and other justification, violates the interests of consumers in terms of imposing contract terms unfavorable to him,” – commented the decision of the Deputy head of the FAS Anatoly Golomolzin.
