Brighter Shores, the latest MMO developed by Fen Research, was set to have its early access release on Steam on Tuesday, November 5th. However, Andrew Gower, one of the creators of RuneScape and a founder of Fen Research, announced on his X account that the launch will be delayed by a day to Wednesday, November 6th. The reason for the delay? The US election is happening on November 5th, so Gower decided to push back the release to avoid any distractions.

Andrew Gower, known for his work on RuneScape, left Jagex in 2010 and founded Fen Research. Development on Brighter Shores began in 2016, and the game has been highly anticipated by fans. The gameplay and graphics of Brighter Shores have drawn comparisons to RuneScape, with a similar vibe and style that fans of the classic MMO will appreciate.

In Brighter Shores, players can choose from different classes like Cryoknight, Guardian, and Hammermage for combat, each specializing in melee, range, and magic, respectively. The game also features professions such as Fisher, Chef, and Woodcutter, reminiscent of the skills available in RuneScape. The MMO promises to deliver an ongoing storyline in episodic format, starting with players taking on the role of a town guard in Hopeport.

One of the key differences between Brighter Shores and other MMOs is the absence of microtransactions. Instead, the game will be divided into free-to-play and Premium Pass tiers, with the latter offering additional locations and features like player-to-player trading. Gower has assured players that there will be no save reset at the end of the early access period, allowing them to retain their progress as the game continues to develop.

For those eager to get an early taste of Brighter Shores, a closed beta will be available starting on October 22nd, giving players a sneak peek before the official launch on November 6th. Gower has also hinted that PvP will be added to the game at a later stage, keeping players engaged and excited for what’s to come in the world of Brighter Shores.
