Nintendo is set to bring a fan-favorite Pokemon game to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service on August 9. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, originally released for Game Boy Advance in 2006, will be available for players to enjoy once again.
In Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, players take on the role of a human who has been transformed into a Pokemon. Teaming up with a partner Pokemon, players form a rescue team and venture into dungeons to complete missions and help other Pokemon. The game offers a unique gameplay experience with its roguelike elements and engaging storyline.
Originally released alongside a Blue Rescue Team version for the Nintendo DS, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team was remade for the Nintendo Switch in 2020 as Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. Fans of the series will now have the opportunity to revisit this classic game through the Nintendo Switch Online service.
The Expansion Pack plan, which includes access to select Nintendo Switch DLC and a library of classic Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Genesis games, will offer Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team to subscribers. While the base Nintendo Switch Online subscription costs $20 USD per year, the Expansion Pack membership is priced at $50 USD per year. For families, Nintendo also offers an annual family plan for $80 that covers up to eight Nintendo Accounts.
