Surely you have already sent a WhatsApp message only to realize, once sent, that it contains an error. Don’t panic: Thanks to a new update, the instant messaging application allows you to edit your messages after sending, says Actu. But beware, you will only have fifteen minutes to do so. And you can only edit a message once.
To do this, “just long-press on a message and select ‘Edit’ from the menu within fifteen minutes of sending it. Edited messages will be marked as ‘edited’,” WhatsApp explains on its blog. The recipient will then receive notification of the change, but will not be able to view the change history.
The messaging service, owned by Meta (parent company of Facebook and Instagram), ensures that these changes will be encrypted and protected “by end-to-end encryption”.
